Vegetarian and Vegan Bed and Breakfast Accommodation is available at 5, Bridge Street Close, Cockermouth, Cumbria at low rates. Hosted by Anita de la Riviere, Vegetarian Society Local Contact for the area, you will be in expert hands and great company.

  • £28 per person, per night, double or single occupancy.
  • Dinner from £15 - £20 per person. Supper from £10 per person.

Extra large plate of fresh fruit, garnished with dried fruit & toasted nuts

Homemade fresh lemon presse

Organic cereals with a selection of ‘milks’
Or
7 grain porridge topped with toasted sunflower seeds & dried blueberries & poppy seed tahini & maple syrup

Cooked breakfast - a selection from:

Big chunky slices of ripe vine tomatoes dipped in polenta with thyme & black pepper
Stout potato cakes made with oats, fresh sage, linseeds & wakame
Breakfast mushrooms stuffed with a nutty mix, red peppers & herbs
Mushrooms cooked with black pepper
Tofu slices marinated in Tamari & fried
Homemade baked beans. Haricot beans in a tomato sauce with fresh herbs
Eggs from my own rescue hens
Baby vegan pizzas

Granary rolls, blue poppy seed rolls & brown bread toast served with a selection of homemade jams & marmalades, fruit spread & marmite

Large selection of fruit & fresh herb teas
Coffee & tea

Gluten, wheat and yeast free choices always available.

This is a sample menu ….

Homemade Hommos, topped with olive oil and toasted sesame seeds
Served with toasted naan breads
Kalamata olives

Green salad with black grapes and desiccated coconut
Served with an olive oil and tamari dressing

Large flaky pastry parcel filled with Aduki Bean Pate, made with ground almonds and roasted red peppers
Tomatoes Sauce, tomatoes simmered in olive oil with fresh basil topping
The potato pie is made with rolled oats, a tot of rum and
a sprinkling of fresh herbs
Broccoli with a squeeze of lemon
Cabbage with blue maw poppy seeds

Fritters made with fresh pineapple and tossed in sugar
Served with Vanilla Swedish Glace
Topped with fresh blueberries

Everything is cooked especially for ‘you’ using the very best ingredients, as orgainic and as seasonal as possible.  Available as vegetarian or vegan.
